According to an ASPCA survey, about half of missing dogs and a third of missing cats were found by searching their local neighborhoods.
We encourage people who have lost their dog or cat to post a photo and description of the pet on LA City Lost and Found Pets, Nextdoor.com, or Pawboost.com, to improve the chances of reuniting with their companion animals.

Independence Day 100% is a day of celebration!
With that in mind, the Sylmar Neighborhood Council hopes that our community can also celebrate and respect our Veterans who have fought for us to maintain our independence and freedoms. Explosions and some fireworks can be traumatic for our Veterans. Please be mindful! To those who have served, THANK YOU!
Traffic slowed down on the I-5 Freeway Tuesday night after 3 runaway horses were on the Freeway. 2 died after being struck by vehicles. 1 rescued on the side of the Freeway.
The California Highway Patrol said three horses started running across several lanes of the busy highway a little before 9:00 p.m., in Sylmar near the transition road on the westbound 210 Freeway close to the Newhall Pass.
Two horses died after colliding with a car in the middle lane. It eventually died in the No. 4 lane. The driver pulled over to the side of the freeway as some passersby tried to wrangle another horse.
It's unclear how the horses got on the freeway.
Did you know the Pacoima Dam can store an amazing 1.98 billion gallons of water? That's enough to fill more than 4000 Olympic-sized swimming pools! But right now, it's facing a challenge.
