Equestrian Committee
(3rd Wednesday 7:00 pm – 13521 Hubbard Street, Sylmar)
To promote horse safety, education, trails, and zoning. To work with the
community to preserve and encourage the equestrian lifestyle in Sylmar.

Education Committee
(2nd Wednesday 4:30 pm / Meeting held off-site)
To discuss, promote, and strategize with/in all areas of educational services and
facilities within the community of Sylmar.

Outreach Committee
(1st Tuesday 6:30 pm – 13521 Hubbard Street, Sylmar)
The Outreach Committee is responsible for ongoing outreach efforts for the
Council and its Committees, outreach projects, and the methods for generally
improving communication and outreach to existing as well as new residents and
businesses.

Planning & Land Use Committee
(2nd Wednesday 6:30 pm – 13521 Hubbard Street, Sylmar)
The committee’s purpose is to represent, advocate, and voice the interests of our
community on development and land use matters to the Sylmar Neighborhood
Council, City of Los Angeles elected officials, Planning and Development
Departments, developers, property and business owners, and community
groups. Our goal is to guide growth and encourage sustainable development of
Sylmar as represented in the Sylmar Community Plan and, to preserve, conserve
and promote the unique qualities valued by Sylmar residents, businesses, and
workforce, volunteers, students, and visitors. To achieve this mission, we solicit
and encourage public input from all stakeholders in a professional, courteous and
a respectful manner with a strong commitment to serving in the public’s best interest.

Public Safety Committee
(2nd Monday 7:00 pm – 13521 Hubbard Street, Sylmar)
To establish and maintain an ongoing dialogue between the community
stakeholders, local law enforcement, fire department personnel, and elected
leaders to foster a safe living and working environment for the community.
The committee will also work to identify, monitor, and address various neighborhood
public safety concerns related to crime, community policing, and emergency
services.

Transportation Committee
(2nd Thursday 7:00 pm – 13521 Hubbard Street, Sylmar)
The Transportation Committee aims to address a comprehensive range of
transportation topics, ensuring that Sylmar's unique character, especially its
equestrian facets are both maintained and improved.

Our General Board Meeting is held on the Fourth Thursday of every month at 6:30 pm The General Board Meeting alternates between two locations on each end of Sylmar to help guarantee that all of Sylmar can be represented. (Osceola Elementary Street School & Discovery Charter Preparatory School)
All Committee meetings (with the exception of the Education Committee) are held at the Sylmar Neighborhood Council office located at 13521 Hubbard Street Sylmar, CA 91342 (Same shopping center as Yum Yum Donuts)
ALL meetings are open to the public to attend and participate. We also offer all meetings on Zoom or by telephone again to help ensure that all of Sylmar can be represented and their voices be heard. Please join us!
