LAPD • Community Police Academy - Valley Bureau

The LAPD Valley Bureau Community Police Academy is a free program that offers an inside look at law enforcement and police operations. The academy is held at the LAPD Edward Davis Training Facility in Granada Hills. What does the academy include? 
  • Students learn about police operations like traffic enforcement, terrorism awareness, and human trafficking
  • Students are introduced to various facets of law enforcement

Requirements

  • 18 years or older
  • Have no convictions for serious crimes
  • Do not have pending arrest warrants
  • Do not have pending criminal cases

  • Space is limited and fills up quickly

  • The 2025 academy will run from February 27 – April 10 2025

  • The academy is offered through the LAPD Operations-Valley Bureau (OVB) 
     
  • The academy is free and runs for seven consecutive Thursdays from 6–9 PM 
     
  • The academy offers an opportunity to learn about police operations and law enforcement
