their room will be filled on March 17 with lots of books and the public
is welcome to be there from 9:30-2 pm. to pick up some incredible bargains
and help out our library by supporting the Friends of Sylmar Library.
The Library is hosting a Healthy Green Smoothie Making Demonstration
and Tasting with Chef Acooba Scott on Saturday, March 24 at 1 pm.
She will be sampling several varieties of healthy smoothies.
Tweens and teens can help make a difference at the library by joining their Teen Council
Meeting on the second Mondays of March and April (March 12 and April 9) at 3:30 pm.
Ages 10-19 are welcome to join in for free pizza and lemonade, learn about upcoming
events and volunteer opportunities at the library, and help the library choose books and CD's for teens.
Coming in April, Princeton Review is returning for two free Student Smart
Practice Exams: the S.A.T. Full-Length Practice Exam is Saturday, April 9
from 12:30-5 pm., and Princeton Review returns on Saturday, April 28 to proctor
the AP Calculus Practice Exam (1-4:30 pm.). These practice exams usually
cost hundreds of dollars, but are totally free at the library -- please call the library
to reserve your spot, and make sure you arrive on time, as only the first 20 (AP Calc)
or 30 (SAT) people will be admitted into the Practice Exam.
Finally, stargazers will want to mark their spring calendars
for an indoor Astronomy Show on Wednesday, May 23 at 6:30 pm.
