The Los Angeles Central Library is celebrating its 100th anniversary with the "Central 100" year-long celebration. Dedicated in July 1926, the historic downtown landmark is marking its centennial with special events, exhibitions, and the historic unearthing of a 1925 cornerstone time capsule.

The centennial festival takes place on Saturday, July 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The free, citywide celebration will feature live music, pop-up books, historical displays, and behind-the-scenes tours of the Special Collections.
Here are a few ways to get involved in the celebration:
- Centennial Library Card: Pick up a limited-edition library card at any of the Los Angeles Public Library (LAPL) locations.
- Exhibitions: Explore decades of library history, art, and architecture through exclusive displays at the Central Library.
- Commemorative Merch: Visit The Library Store to purchase Central 100 items created in partnership with Historiart and Gallery 1988.
