Microchip Your Pet to Ensure a Happy Reunion

Microchipping your pet provides permanent pet identification. The process is safe, simple, permanent, and designed to quickly identify lost pets and reunite them with their owners. The microchip, about the size of a grain of rice, is injected beneath the surface of the pet’s skin between the shoulder blades.

If your pet needs a microchip, visit any of our six LA Animal Services Centers to have your companion animal microchipped. The cost is $15. No appointment is needed.

October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month!
October is National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, and we have so many wonderful pets ready to meet and go home with you at all six of our LA Animal Services Centers!
Furry friends adopted from LA Animal Services join their new families already spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adopters also receive a Petco flyer with discounts to help make their pet adoption a success and a VCA Healthy Start Certificate, which provides up to $250 of follow-up veterinary care within the first 14 days of adoption. In addition, dogs are eligible for free dog training classes with Paws for Life K9 Rescue at their People & Pet Innovation Center in Mission Hills, CA.
To see the amazing animals available to adopt or foster, go to LAAnimalServices.com/pets.
If you can't adopt, consider fostering a pet. When you foster a pet, you not just save the life of that animal, but also free up a space for another dog or cat in need.
