About the Parade

The San Fernando Valley Veterans Day Parade is the largest Veterans Day event for Veterans in the County of Los Angeles, which thousands of (approximately 20,000) residents come out every year to pay tribute to the men and women who serve or have served. Our Veterans have earned their right to have a Parade.

The San Fernando Valley Veterans Day Parade Theme.Honoring Those Who Served Past and Present." Veterans Day is a day set aside to honor Veterans for their services and sacrifices they and their families have made.

At a time when our troops are actively engaged in Afghanistan and throughout the world, the San Fernando Valley Veterans Day Parade is particularly important to the proud Veterans, families of Veterans and troops from the San Fernando Valley.

Approximately 2000 Veterans from the WWII era, the Korean War era, the Vietnam War era, the Desert Storm era, and Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom will participate in the SAN FERNANDO VALLEY VETERANS DAY PARADE. VETERANS AND ONLY VETERANS RIDE IN THIS PARADE.

Dedicated to the memory of

Alfred Anthony Flores, Jr. 12-19-90 to 04-03-09

Alfred gave his father, Fred A. Flores, the idea of starting the Veterans Day parade in the San Fernando Valley, so veterans and their families would not have to drive far for a parade (Long Beach, the other closest Veterans Day parade).

 Alfred will be missed dearly.
