Here are the latest updates from our three mission areas.
CARE -
When children struggle with their behavior, it can have a negative impact on everyone in the family. Parents know they need to respond, but they often aren’t sure what’s the best strategy, especially if a child is frequently acting out and nothing seems to work.
Informed by the most up-to-date research, the Child Mind Institute’s Behavioral and Emotional Skills Training (BEST)℠ provides parents and caregivers with a structured and interactive training experience aimed at teaching practical techniques to promote positive behavior, good social-emotional development, and increased self-esteem.
EDUCATION -
On January 25, Dr. Harold Koplewicz, the Child Mind Institute’s president and medical director, will speak at the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Initiative (CAMHI) Conference in Greece.
CAMHI is a new, five-year program that aims to empower children, adolescents, and families in Greece with the mental health resources they need to thrive. Developed in partnership with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, this initiative is among the first of the Child Mind Institute’s efforts to help transform children’s mental health on a global scale.
This free, live-broadcasted event will introduce the CAMHI and its progress, sharing insights from Dr. Koplewicz and others.
Marco Pagani, PhD a Marie Curie Global Research Fellow in the Autism Center at the Child Mind Institute and member of the Gozzi Lab at the Italian Institute of Technology, was selected by the Society for Neuroscience (SFN) to present his work at the press conference for their 2022 annual meeting. Dr. Pagani’s poster for the conference focused on subtyping autism using fMRI. Spectrum News featured Dr. Pagani and his poster’s findings in a video on their website.
