Candidate filing for Sylmar Neighborhood Council is open until March 20, 2023, at 11:59 pm Pacific for the election on JUNE 3rd. Newly elected members take office on July 1, 2023.

Neighborhood Councils are the voice of their communities at Los Angeles City Hall. Board members serve their terms as volunteers and are elected by members of their community. Most NC members serve two-year terms; a few serve four-year terms. (Sylmar is 2yr terms.) Look up your Neighborhood Council: http://tiny.cc/FindMyNC
• • • WHO CAN RUN OR VOTE? • • •
Anyone who lives, works, studies, worships or owns property or a business within NC boundaries may run or vote in this election. Community interest stakeholders belonging to locally based community service organizations meeting specific requirements in the City Charter are also eligible. Candidates must be 18+ and voters 16+ except Youth Seat candidates and voters, who must be 14 - 17. Candidates need not be US citizens or legal residents to qualify. Participation is also open to the system impacted.

Both Vote-By-Mail and in-person voting at the Election Day polls are available. Mail ballots include postage, but are only available by request. Request your Vote-By-Mail ballot online from March 21 - May 1 at http://tiny.cc/NCvoters. Mail ballots must be postmarked by Election Day – May 20 – or dropped off at the polls that day.
