Mountain Lions - Where and How to Report

It is great to let your neighbors know if you see a mountain lion BUT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE also report it to the proper authorities. 

How do I report a mountain lion/cougar sighting?
If you encounter a cougar and wish to report the sighting, report it to the National Park Service 
You can send an email to

When reporting, please include the location, date, and time of the sighting and any photos or video you may have.
You can also report via the California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s (CDFW) Wildlife Incident Reporting
