Easy Sugar Cookie Recipe-only 3 ingredients!
There are only 4 super simple steps.
• Make the dough: beat together butter, sugar, and flour until blended.
Ingredients
• 1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
• 2/3 cup (and) 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
• 2 cups + 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
(Optional add-ons)
• 1 Teaspoon Vanilla (suggested)
• Rainbow Sprinkles (Because they look pretty and are delicious!)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
2. Line 2 large baking trays with parchment paper.
3. In a medium bowl - Beat together butter and 2/3 cup sugar until combined. Using a hand mixer is fine. It will be a little bit gritty and that is ok. REMEMBER you will still have 3 tablespoons of sugar left over.
4. Add the flour (and Vanilla if desired) and mix well.
5. Scoop the dough into 1-inch balls.
6. Gently roll each ball in the remaining leftover 3 tablespoons of sugar and place it on a baking tray 2 inches apart from each other.
7. With the bottom of a glass press down on each of the balls to form cookie shapes. They should be about l/4 inch think. (They will get bigger/wider as they cook).
8. If using Rainbow sprinkles, sprinkle each cookie and slightly press on them.
9. Bake for 14-16 minutes. The edges should get very slightly golden brown.
10. Remove from the oven and let them cool (rest) for about 10 minutes.
