Volunteer Sylmar Homeless Count • January 24th 8:00pm-11:00pm

Posted on 01/19/2023

Dear Neighbor,

The Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count is an annual census that counts our neighbors experiencing unsheltered homelessness. (This is people living on the street, side of the road, in tents, in RVs, and in encampments.) Through the Count, we’re better able to direct and advocate for vital services to support the needs of Angelenos experiencing homelessness. It helps us to understand the state of homelessness in LA and the challenges we face so we are better equipped to work toward solutions together.

Next week, thousands of volunteers will hit the streets in over 80 cities and 200 communities across LA County to complete the Count. This is where you come in! At each Volunteer Site, volunteers will be coordinated in groups and given specific areas within that community to drive and begin their counting. This is done with no interaction and from a distance of the individuals that you are counting.

Please join us as a volunteer for the 2023 Homeless Count in Sylmar on January 24, 8:00pm to 11:00pm. Participating is an easy, meaningful way to make a difference for our unhoused neighbors in need of support. We still need hundreds of volunteers, so encourage your friends and family to sign up, too!

Thank you for joining us in this effort to show that everyone counts, no matter where they live. We appreciate your partnership and commitment to ending homelessness.

Warmly,

Sylmar Neighborhood Council, Outreach Committee
