Fatel Accident • 5 Freeway Sylmar

A man walking on the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway in Sylmar was fatally struck on Wednesday, March 05, 2025.

Firefighters and California Highway Patrol detectives responded to the freeway at Balboa Boulevard at 3:43 p.m. to reports of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

It was unclear why the man was walking on the freeway. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
